Mississippi AG conducts a string of attacks on immigrants

On May 26th, Mississippi’s Attorney General Jim Hood announced he had conducted yet another raid on Latino immigrants, arresting 12 workers on construction sites. He used inflammatory language such as “identity fraud” to describe the reasons for the raid and arrests, and used the “i” word to describe the workers (que, to Latinos, is just as hateful as the “n” word).

This is the third such raid that Jim Hood has conducted and announced publicly. His messages incite anti-immigrant, racist feelings in Mississippi, and this sequence of raids is starting to look like a political strategy to bring out the white supremacist vote. Mientras tanto, the laws he cites in conducting these raids have been declared unconstitutional by federal courts.
