In the United States, there’s no place more difficult to be a Latino immigrant than the state of Mississippi. It is by far the poorest region in the country. It also has hundreds of years of racially violent history, starting with slavery and the Civil War, and continuing with the Ku Klux Klan. 今天, along with the state of Montana, Mississippi has the greatest number of racist groups per capita.
