Like many of her clients, immigration attorney Dulce Garcia’s future in the U.S. is in a state of uncertainty.
Garcia was brought by her parents to the U.S. from Mexico when she was 6 years old. She is one of 230,000 undocumented immigrants in California who benefited from the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which the Trump administration rescinded Tuesday.

Why Trump’s Immigration Gambit Will Likely Backfire

President Trump may have hoped to increase pressure on congressional Democrats to accept other hardline elements of his immigration agenda this week by rescinding the program that has protected from deportation about 800,000 “Dreamers,” young people brought to the country illegally by their parents.
But it’s more likely Trump has triggered a process that will divide Republicans, further estrange him from the business community, and ultimately paralyze Congress
