This newly released full length feature film focuses on white and black race relations in 1960s Jackson, Mississippi.  Running time is approximately 2 hours 17 minutes.

You must pay for your own movie ticket.

The MIRA will host a discussion in the theater after the film.

Naturalization Workshop-August 25, 2011-JACKSON

Come and fill out your N-400 application for naturalization with assistance from MIRA Legal Project Director, Attorney L. Patricia Ice.  To file for naturalization, you must be at least 18 years old and  a lawful permanent resident with good moral character plus 5 years  of continuous residence in the U.S. (3 years of continuous residence if you are currently married to and living with a United States citizen) You must be able to pass an English reading, writing and speaking test and an American history and government test.  The N-400 U.S. government filing fee is $680 payable to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  You must bring your permanent resident card and other biographical information about yourself and your immediate family members.

Civic Engagement Day-JACKSON

Every year, hundreds of immigrants and workers from around Mississippi visit the state capitol to meet their legislators and make their voices heard on state policy issues which affect us.  More details to be announced in the fall.
