Federal Records Show New Immigration Policies Delay Local Cases, Increase Court Backlog

Newly released records obtained by the News4 I-Team show the severe impact new immigration policies have in the Washington, 特区, metropolitan area; one former judge says it’s making the huge immigration court case backlog even worse.
Records from January through July of 2017 show immigration judges around the country were forced to postpone 24,806 cases, because those judges were not in their courtrooms to hear cases.

Mention Nottingham in a conversation, and it’s pretty likely the first thing to come to mind is Robin Hood.
But the story being told here is very different from the fable of old.
Instead of stealing from the rich to give to the poor, students today who hope to get rich are flocking to this charming city two hours north of London.
Nottingham Business School – which is part of Nottingham Trent University – has seen a 25 percent uptick in interest from international students.

Dance party raises $2,400 for immigrant bail fund

The Immigrant Bail Fund raised $2,400 at a dance event on Saturday to support its work posting bail for people held in immigration detention who are unable to do so on their own.
The event, a dance party with refreshments, was held at the New Haven People’s Center on Howe Street and attended by around five dozen people.

Immigration and DACA: The impact on first responder hiring

In early September, the Trump administration announced plans to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (IF) program. The policy was originally introduced in 2012 by the Obama administration.
总之, the policy has made it possible for nearly 800,000 immigrant children, known as dreamers, to live in the U.S. without fear of deportation. After plans were announced to end the program, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stopped processing DACA applications.

Survey finds strong support for ‘dreamers’

Majorities of Americans strongly support two potential components of immigration legislation this fall, including deportation protections for younger undocumented immigrants and requiring employers to verify workers are in the United States legally, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
The findings suggest that President Trump and Congress might have a path to a major deal on immigration reform that has eluded Washington for three decades. Trump has said he is open to compromise with Democrats on a bill that would provide legal status
